Review of Amy (2015) by Lewis W — 01 Oct 2015
I feel as though this film tries to victimise Amy, making her seem as though she didn't want to do any of the drugs or drink any of the alcohol that she was, and I felt as though this was unrealistic because the film associated the fact that she was drinking too much with the amount of music that she was writing. The film also painted Amy Winehouse's father, Mitch, to be the 'villain' as it were. The film shows how he miraculously reappears into Amy life as soon as her debut album, 'Frank', is a commercial and critical success, painted Mitch out to be not a caring father and wanting his daughters money.
It was a great film and I would highly recommend it.
