Okay, as lame as this movie was and as bad as the acting was, there is one thing you need to remember: IT IS A HORROR MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No one ever, ever, ever does what they are supposed to (i.e. call the police, stay away from the door that mysteriously creeks open, refuse the ride from the innocent looking man with his arm in a sling, etc.) so when the logical thing for the characters to do in this movie doesn't happen- remember that. They aren't supposed to.

Danny: What's wrong, Tabby?
Max: Don't be scared.
Tabitha: Boys, listen to me, we have to hide. There's a bad man, a very bad man in the house.
Max: He just wants to play. Like earlier at the door.
Tabitha: That was him?
Danny: [Chuckles] Owen.
Tabitha: No, don't.
Danny: But, Tabby, he said he just wanted to have some fun.

The Laugh: It's a metal scope Victrola.
Dan: Oh.
The Laugh: It's very old... and priceless.
Dan: What's it do?
The Laugh: What does it do? Well, it plays a song, and at the end, you get a surprise. Well, go on. Try it.
Dan: Oh no, that's okay.
The Laugh: Try it.
Dan: Okay.
