Review of Amour (2012) by Carlos E — 23 Mar 2013
Mandatory viewing for anybody with a spark of sensitivity in them. No-nonsense and unsentimental treatment of what any of us could be facing eventually. Despite the unsentimental approach, the film carries a surprising air of warmth.
Haneke proves again that he is the master of simplicity and expertly guides Trintignant and Riva through the most difficult emotional plot. A film as fragile and delicate as life.
