Review of Amour (2012) by Dan S — 31 Aug 2013

What a beautiful film! Amour is French filmmaking at its finest. These two actors get dropped into the ends of their characters' lives, and yet we get a full comprehension of their relationship and their individual personalities.

Each actor has obviously committed to their respective role and both are absolutely outstanding. Despite a slow, deliberate pace, this film is riveting from beginning to end. The juxtaposition of realism and poetic metaphor blends perfectly.

One of the best of 2012, to be sure!
