Review of Amityville II: The Possession (1982) by Gary K — 06 Jul 2018
It helps to recall where America was in 1982 when the film was released. With "The Exorcist" having set the bar and the new slasher genre taking over, "Amityville II: The Possession" is one family's jounrey through a collection of practical effects that are now cliched, but were very effectively rendered in the pre-CGI era.
The film moves faster than its predecessor and, with a better score, creates a sense of dread and creepiness that makes the journey worth the time.
