It's a disappointment if you're expecting a survey of America's musical history.The only two musicians dealt with in detail are Louis Armstrong and Aloe Blacc (the presenter) . Forget the blues, punk or reggae.
Motown is reduced to a single sentence mention. Lets just skip the 60's and 70's. However, there is a complete rendition of an Aloe Blacc song compete with flash mob. Country is reduced to how Aloe Blacc would sound with a banjo or steel guitar.
Legendary figures of the great genres of America music are completely ignored. The title is misleading.
