Review of American Teen (2008) by Howard J — 24 Aug 2008
Admirable in its refusal to interject commentary and its insistence on serving only as an eye for the audience. That said, these people are exhausting! If this film succeeds in anything, it depicts the inability of the American Teen to conceive of the extent of their lives, instead, behaving as if achieving their immediate goals guarantees lasting satisfaction.
I'd be interested in getting a 16-year-old's perspective on the film to see if he found the characters as shallow and self-serving as I did.
