Review of American Splendor (2003) by Jamie P — 10 Jul 2012
This is one of my all time fave films, its a true story mixing film and reality together.
American Splendor tales the story of Harvey Peiker, a famous or not so famous Comic book writer who started a revolution in comics, to do a comic about ordinary life. For example going shopping, getting up, going out etc the film follows him from the start of his comic being written and made, with his friends and collegues helping him along the way. But as soon as things get going he is hit by cancer and so follows his ways off getting through it - with his comic.
Its not going to change the world this movie, nor will it appeal to everyones taste, but I found this a interesting, funny and moving film with great acting and music.
This is one of my top films of all time and reccomend it to people who like something different from the mainstreem movies of today.
