Review of American Sniper (2014) by Jamesirish68 — 06 Feb 2015
This movie ignited a lot of controversy. People have used this to take sides with regards the rights and wrongs of the Iraq war. But the movie does not seek to answer that question. It’s a story about a simple patriotic Texas rodeo rider with a strict upbringing and his reaction to the war on terror.
He unsurprisingly enlists and does what soldiers are supposed to do. He follows orders and kills the enemy. His mindset does not encompass the political strategy just the job. This is a straight forward story well told.
Cooper and Miller are tremendous. They physical bulked up and really look the part. A sad tale about a good man fighting in yet another unnecessary foreign war.
