Review of American Sniper (2014) by Todayor — 31 Jan 2015
So, I originally didn't want to see this movie. Then, I heard an NPR critic say, **roughly** "this movie tries to be so many things and doesn't succeed at any of them." Because that was such a **** critic thing to say, yes I correctly placed the adjective there, I decided to watch it.
Yes, Mr. NPR, maybe it's a film that isn't trying to do anything in particular. It's just trying to show you the confusion, the memories, the character. It's trying to let you in to the most important memories of a person that went through something confusing, tragic, and unreal.
If it doesn't make sense, that's because it's the truth. Welcome to Ulysses, idiot. By idiot, I'm referring to you NPR critic. BTW Clint Eastwood's is at his best when he's this restrained.
