Review of American Sniper (2014) by Paul B — 14 Oct 2015
American Sniper was slow, focused and dove deep into the character Chris Kyle and his struggle with the war and his family. The plot moved along nicely as it switched from one of his tours overseas and then back to show how his family life progressed overtime.
Every kill and every lose of a fellow soldier affected Bradley Coopers character and seeing his change over the course of the film was great. The battle scenes were well done and most of them featured sniper action which was intense and gripping.
The film is emotional and thrilling throughout and by the end you really get to care for Chris and his family. The ending, if you do not know the story already, was a little bit of a letdown as they didn't carry it all the way through and just stopped and then told you what happened.
The acting by Bradley Cooper was great and anyone looking for a great war film filled with intense action and emotional scenes, should enjoy American Sniper.
