The single seriously compelling element of American Sniper, the Kyle/Mustapha/Juba dueling sniper axis, gets short shrift. Jean-Jacques Annaud deals with this ingredient (tactics) much more effectively in 2001's Enemy At The Gates.
To Clint Eastwood's credit, he is never afraid to pull the trigger.
