Review of American Sniper (2014) by Rhea H — 10 May 2016
Clint Eastwood delivered a honest, gripping and realistic take on the life of Navy SEAL Chris Kyle and his four deployments to Iraq from 1999 to 2009. Bradley Cooper carried the movie with heart, emotion and courage; showcasing the journey of a humble man trying to chase a career in the rodeo, before an injury forces him to seek a career in the Navy.
Then the audience see his sanity slowly drift away until he tunes out his family during discharges. The acting, directing, writing and dialogue is excellent, and really showcases the brutality of the war in Iraq.
