Review of American Psycho (2000) by Kok Chieat W — 21 Jun 2014
With a fairly strong screenplay and an impressive lead performance from Christian Bale, it's not hard to see the vague outline of the intricate character study that "American Psycho" is trying to be.
But despite all this, the films just seems to be...bland. Going into this movie, I expected it to look and feel more like Alfred Hitchcock's 'Psycho', with unique cinematography and a deeper delve into the mind of said psycho, but this film has painfully vanilla style as far as cinematography, lighting, and sound go, and the character development as well as wannabe twist ending feel very rushed and poorly timed.
