While it has some great moments and great performances by Ewan McGregor, Jennifer Connelly, and Dakota Fanning, American Pastoral tries to stay faithful to the book it was based on by Philip Roth, but falls very short, and ended up becoming a dull and bland book-to-film adaptation.
