Review of American Me (1992) by Ravinder B — 04 Aug 2010
A raw and unsparingly violent, this film is a powerful look at the rise and ultimate fall of a Mexican Mafia kingpin. The film starts out dealing us a history lesson, and almost stalls the story, but quickly kicks into high gear once reaching present day.
It's sad to see how the same patterns get repeated within each generation and I couldn't help but think if society will ever see the end of gang violence.
