Review of American Made (2017) by Justin G — 27 Sep 2017
Having the feel of Scarface in a crazy fun Forest Gump esque docudrama, Doug Liman's American Made brings it home by telling the perfect story of an average Joe pilot turned filthy rich drug smuggling cowboy, portrayed tremendously by Tom Cruise.
However, what really makes American Made a must watch flick is Liman's screenplay digging very deep into the foreign affairs between the U.S. and the Central American countries during the Reagan Era.
The beginning of the film, the pacing is slow and unfocused, but not long afterwards it's smooth flying from there. Definitely one of my favorite films of the year and can't wait for more films from both Doug Liman and Tom Cruise.
