The beginning introduces us to Star's (Sasha Lane) dysfunctional family, and is intense and impactful. Once Star joins the tribe of teens, you think tragedy is going to happen at every turn as she makes risky choices.
Unfortunately, the only tragedy is that this movie is way too long.
