Review of American History X (1998) by Shawn T — 19 Jun 2012
One of Norton's best performances - if not best. American History X tackles the issue of Racism in the United States from the view of Neo-Nazi Derek (Norton) and his little brother Danny (Furlong) whose father was murdered by an African-American youth during Derek's senior year of highschool.
The film is complex and follows Derek's fall, subsequent redemption and his efforts to prevent his little brother from following the same path he did.
