American History X does exactly what it should, showing the evident problems that existed in America's civil rights history without taking sides. But that doesn't make a movie. What makes this film is Edward Norton's flawless performance, forcing us to actually care about the plight of the centered family.
Bound to have any viewer shaking in their seat, provoked, many times throughout.
