Review of American History X (1998) by Joe C — 25 Aug 2012
This film will always go down as one of my favorites. Do I believe in any of the stupid nazi propaganda in the film, absolutely not. The story is what grabs you and never lets go. A full on story of a good average venice beach teenager who gets his entire mind turned around on racial issues with the death of his father.
On the other side, his brother following in his footsteps and things end up taking a turn for the worst. A bone chilling excellent performance by Edward Norton that absolutely makes this film. No one else could do it better.
A great supporting cast as well including Edward Furlong, Elliot Gould, Stacy Keach, and Ethan Suplee. If you havent seen this film, waste no more and see it ASAP.
