Review of American Hardcore (2006) by Jake C — 20 Apr 2008
This was a great documentary with some cool footage if you were around in early 80 and interested in punk. Some things and bands were missing from this moving. Namely for me The Dead Kenedys, a favorite of mine.
Black Flag is included with interviews from Henry Rollins, and several of that bands that appeared on the Alternative Tenticles release "Let Them Eat Jellybeans". Like Band Brains, for example.
It covers the evolution from the west coast hardcore scene though the country. It was a short burst of time, and lives on in spirit, and I have to say it was cool to be around to see some of it myself.
