Review of American Graffiti (1973) by Wes M — 22 Apr 2011
O. M. G. Where is George Lucas and what have you done with him?? haha And by that, I mean, I had no idea he could direct so phenomenally and with such ease (excluding A New Hope). It's another coming-of-age movie, but the characters suck you in like crazy, prolly cuz they are so realistic and down to earth.
Man, Richard Dreyfuss and Ron Howard are SO young in this, you can barely recognize them. O, and the music is another gem: it's lots of classic rock from the 50s and 60s. Got the period perfectly, the cars are characters just as the actors are.
Yea, this is not one to be missed, I can see why my parents loved it so much when they saw it in theaters on a date :-O.
