Review of American Beauty (1999) by Kendall I — 01 Oct 2012
I have just seen possibly the best movie ever.
PLOT:Lester Burnham (Kevin Spacey) has a negligent wife and teenage daughter who hates him. After a while of depressing thoughts,he breaks into midlife crisis and falls in love with his daughter's best friend. Meanwhile, his daughter meets a new "creepy" guy and his wife cheats on him. The plot is normal life executed well and stretched into an unpredictable screenplay that never failed to entertain. It was comical,deep,thought-provoking,and overall odd;it was either way epic.
ACTING:Kevin Spacey earns every award he got for this. Annette Benning shows her emotion and potential in here, which shows what "The Kids Are All Right" didn't. The actor who played the "creepy" guy was excellent and reminded me deeply of me.
SCORE:None really. The soundtrack is a mix of 70's rock and Dean-Martin-ish showtunes.
OTHER CONTENT:The psychological tint in this film is excellent, its humor great and dry,and its just brilliant.
OVERALL,a beautiful movie with great acting, plot execution, humor, and psychological tint overall! Just beautifully epic.
