Upon seeing this film, I made damn sure not to listen to any of the hype. I've liked Sam Mendes in the past, but as a director, he had never made a film which truly wowed me... And then I saw American Beauty, one of the most miraculous things I have EVER experienced.
This is the very definition of a perfect film, with fantastic performances all around, a morbid yet funny screenplay and a great sense of style. I love every single frame of American Beauty.
