American Beauty perfectly blends its drama and comedy, with a dark, witty story and tremendous performances that dominate each scene. Elevated by Thomas Newman's incredible score, its scenes are constantly just as haunting as they are downright beautiful.
Without a doubt the best film of 1999, and an all around great movie.
