Review of Amen. (2002) by Niloo R — 28 Mar 2013
Amen is a riveting movie, directed by the Master Costa - Gavras, that portrays how disappointingly indifferent Catholic church was before the Holocaust, which was killing millions of Jews and converts.
Amen is a brave film that points out the complicity between the Pope, Mussolini and the Nazis. The Pope owed a lot to Mussolini and he couldn't raise his voice because that would've meant war and destruction to The Vatican, the lost of their valuable possessions.
They knew it and they preferred to save the work of art before saving human lives. Great picture.
