Review of Amélie (2001) by Malcolm W — 10 Aug 2012
I have only one word to describe this movie: "incroyable!!!"(Amazing translated from google translate) I love this movie for not being mean spirited, non annoying, and most importantly, boring! This is a very touching and a light hearted story in france that is so beautiful and well crafted that it is going to take me beyond years and years to sum up.
The characters are all likable, Amelie herself is a very lovable protagonist that knows not to make a wrong turn on her own performance (Audrey Tautou, you are one of the greatest, and young actresses of this generation IMHO) The story can be easily be followed, for a romantic comedy movie like this, and seeing that this is Jean-Pierre Jeunet's greatest of all of his films, I am now convinced that he can make a film good, fresh, and well developed.
It's not everyday that a french film director that has a deep imagination for a great movie like this.
