Review of Amélie (2001) by Barry N — 04 Sep 2011
Here are words that come to mind when I think about this film. Charming, fun, beautifully shot, touching, nostalgic; shall I go on, or do you get the point?
This film celebrates life in the most touching way possible. It starts out with a simple box, and in that box contains one man's childhood. It's a nostalgic and beautiful scene that made my spirits soar.
I will give the film extra kudos for making this film highly imaginative. There are camera shots from completely different angles, fast moving scenes, and over exagerated scenes emphasized for comedic effect, and done really well I might add.
This is a heartwarming film with a great look on life, relationships, and people.
