Review of Amélie (2001) by Mad M — 30 Jan 2012
One of the best films I've ever seen. And I don't say such things lightly. It's a unique approach, especially if you've never seen Jeunet. It will grow on you too.
It's beyond a feel-good film. It warms the soul.
Tautou conveys a gamut of heartwarming, natural emotions with her facial expressions and body language. She's also cute as a button.
The first time I saw it, I gave it 6/10. I watched 3 more times over the next week. And I raised the score to 8/10. I just couldn't shake this film. Watched it several more times and got the soundtrack. It's terrific. 10/10.
