Review of Amelia (2009) by Marisol R — 14 Feb 2010
The romanticized version of the Aviator focusing on Amelia Earhart and her contributions to aviation and women's rights. Hilary Swank was defintely a great choice for the lead role and defintely is one of the strong points in the film, whereas Gere and Mcgregor are just adequate as the men in her live.
But the film itself plays out in a way as more of a travelogue of her adventures and where she has been along with the romantic triangle between her and her suitors rather than the flights themselves until the final one that claimed her life.
Left me wanting to know more but ok for what it is a wistful romantic travel book.
