Review of Amarcord (1973) by Matthew G — 23 Apr 2008
Not to penalise it for being incoherent and having no plot (as that is half the point) but the result is that the focus is firmly on the characters. Unfortunately only 2 were remotely interesting. Memorable for me for only a couple of sequences (the early school montage and the 'man in tree' bit) and the shot of the peacock in the snow.
The various threats that were banded around were also quite funny but on every other level, for me, it failed to deliver.
