Review of Amarcord (1973) by Eleonora B — 30 Dec 2009
One of the most beautiful films I've ever seen! for a period of time I had insatiable appetite for watching it almost every day and uncovering its rich layers (like those of a juicy, delicious lasagna).
This movie is much more than just Fellini's memories; anybody can immerse themselves in this brilliantly nostalgic and colorful journey without even noticing how far they've gone....every scene is so simple, yet so powerful in every aspect, from the Fascist march to the street car race, from the summer dance on the hotel terrace to the death of the mother....one feels that the lifetime has lovingly passed through Rimini in the course of the movie, not just a year.....
