Review of Amadeus (1984) by Farzaneh N — 14 Apr 2011
I had read Peter Shaffer's play before watching this movie, and I dare say the movie was as amazing as the play itself although I think Motzart's deterioration was better displayed in the play rather than in the movie.
Instead, the movie was blessed with Motzart's beautiful music, with wonderful talented actors, and with great costumes and decorations, which compensated for any likely shortage. While watching the movie, I got angry with Salieri and pitied him at the same time! The movie was a very deep delving into Salieri and Motzart's characters.
On the whole, it was a bonus to watch "Amadeus".
