Review of Amadeus (1984) by Jeffrey M — 20 Nov 2011
A beautiful mix of comedy, drama, music, and intrigue, Amadeus is a powerful and effective period piece and fictionalized account of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Especially impressive was the always reliable F Murray Abraham and Tom Hulce, who goes all in in a very energetic performance.
Though long (the director's cut is 3 hours) the film never overstays its welcome, always enthralling the viewer.
