Review of Amadeus (1984) by Liam R — 09 Apr 2012
Who would have thought a brash American could give such a good performance as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart? Giving Tom Hulce the title role was an inspired piece of casting, yet it is still F Murray Abraham's Antonio Salieri who makes the most fascinating character, almost Shakespearian in his villainy and the motives behind it.
One of the very best films of the 80s, or probably any other decade for that matter.
