Review of Amadeus (1984) by Nick M — 23 Apr 2012
Perhaps it isn't historically accurate, perhaps it isn't a true retelling of the loves of either man involved, but... who cares? I don't think it was supposed to be. This is historical fiction at its finest.
The story of two men who's lives so greatly affect one another but in incredibly different ways, who's betrayal and mutual respect turns one to madness and plots of murder is extremely compelling.
History? No. Incredibly well put together piece of writing mixed with powerful set pieces and some of the best music ever written? Absolutely.
