Review of Amadeus (1984) by Stephen E — 24 Jun 2012
Rarely do I use the term 'masterpiece' in regards to film making, but I can honestly can say that "Amadeus" is one the finest films ever to be made. Both F. Murray Abraham and Tom Hulce boast powerful performances, each constantly striving to outdo the other.
The real genius lies in Milos Forman's elegant direction, where he orchestrates some of the most sophisticated, most visually astonishing scenes ever to be filmed. "Amadeus" is a masterful, awe-inspiring feat, and for a film of its epic length, it doesn't drag or slow down a single time.
