Review of Amadeus (1984) by Jonathan G — 07 Jul 2012
Could it be really worth watching for nearly three hours? It was, indeed. Funny, playful, and fresh. Mozart (played by Tom Hulce) comes across as very 'American' - as do many of the others, but the movie doesn't try to hide the non-realistic accents (as Valkyrie or other movies have attempted and failed) but instead uses this inaccuracy to make the comedy and heart of the movie more viable to the American viewer.
Winner of 8 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor. You should watch this movie.
