A bit of a masterpiece really. Manages to combine biopic, rivalry, intrigue and comedy with a subtle celebration of the majesty of Mozartâ(TM)s music. Tom Hulce is terrific as the spoiled, inane yet passionate and childlike Wolfy, and F.
Murray Abraham gives a dazzling performance as his arch-rival Salieri, oozing jealousy, menace and genuine appreciation, heâ(TM)s a complex and fascinating villain and means the telling of the story is much less straight-forward than it might have been, showing it through his eyes.
