Captivating drama about the life of 18th century musical genius Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (Tom Hulce) as told from the point of view of aging fellow composer Antonio Salieri (F. Murray Abraham). As Salieri recalls how such an unrefined man like Mozart was able to create music to please everyone instead of a more disciplined man like himself, he is extremely jealous of Mozart's natural talent and yet he also admires Mozart's work.
Milos Forman's Amadeus is much more than just a costume drama showing off the filmmaker's ability to recreate an historical time and place, it is also a rich human drama that confirms that any person can be given groundbreaking talent regardless of whether or not they deserve it.
