A film of great quality. Hulce's Mozart starts off as unsavoury caricature, but gains layer upon layer as the film progresses with Hulce's performance constructing a sympathetic and enthralling character.
Abraham is excellent throughout crafting Salieri into a complex enigma woven from envy and idolatry. The opera scenes feel highly polished with Mozart's fantastic music showcased wonderfully throughout.
The director's cut feels somewhat slow at times during the middle acts, but this is still a captivating, entertaining and very well made film from start to finish.
