Review of Amadeus (1984) by Alec B — 06 Jul 2014
One of the great films about genius, or really the many ways genius is perceived, hated, and coveted by lesser individuals. Forman's direction is brilliant, every character from leading to extra seems full of life and Shaffer's screenplay is a wonderful expansion (and arguable improvement) of his play.
The moment when the woman yelling at Mozart suddenly becomes a production of "The Magic Flute" is probably one of my favorite cuts in the history of cinema.
