Review of Amadeus (1984) by Paolo S — 16 Apr 2011
Gorgeously filmed and perfectly cast, "Amadeus" is a sheer masterpiece. It's funny, heartbreaking, and demands the attention of it's viewer. Everything from the music, costumes, settings, and cinematography made this film a real treat.
The best thing about it were definitely the performances by both Tom Hulce and F. Murray Abraham, two actors I was honestly unaware of until watching the film. Their flawless performances gave way to me genuinely caring about their characters and consistently held my engagement for the entirety of the film.
It's the kind of movie that, if given the chance, will completely sweep it's viewers off their feet.
