Review of Always (1989) by Halvard D — 23 Jul 2009
Most noteable for being the final screen appearance of Audrey Hepburn, who aptly plays an angel. This is perhaps Spielberg's worst movie. Richard Dreyfuss is terribly miscast as a daredevil firefighting pilot who crashes and dies, only to be sent back to watch over his replacement, The real weakness is the lack of chemistry between Holly Hunter and the man Dreyfuss is sent to protect, who of course takes his job and his girl.
The character is so boring and underwritten that the only reason I could see for her wanting to be with him was that he was good looking, and whaty kind of message is that supposed to be?
