You know when someone tells you about those 'movies you need to see before you die'? well take it from me; you need to this movie before you die" A classic. Such fantastic dialogue propels a narrative which explores such fascinating concepts of the human existence, it quickly becomes an intense body horror story (with AMAZING effects throughout), a creature feature, all wrapped up within a palatable narrative.
The score follows the movie perfectly, at times almost avant-garde, at times the perfect version of what you'd expect. The imagery used is amazing (again, the effects are so good), plumeting the depths of hell in such a fantastic way.
Even the requiset love story (an integral part of the story, this is as much about love as it anyhting else) is real enough, heart breaking enough, not to be detremental to the story. A genre classic, referenced in other movies right through to Broken Lizards Beerfest.
Visually, sonically, verbally... PERFECT.
