Review of Altered States (1980) by Victor M — 16 Aug 2013
I got interested into watching "Altered States" after listening to industrial/doom metal band Godflesh, especially since their 1st album (Streetcleaner) featured an image from the movie. After seeing some clips from YouTube, I got even more interested.
Then I bought the movie (in VHS) & watched it: the special effects are ultimately unique (even for a movie from 1980), the acting is serious, the settings look menacing at times, the story is quite intriguing, & it has one of the best endings of all time.
Gonna watch it again sometime soon.
