Review of Altered States (1980) by Jose M — 08 Jul 2013
I may have hated La Patrona, found Dama y Obrero, Mi Corazon Insiste, La Reina del Sur, and Dona Barbara utterly stupid, but I can safely say I was very entertained by the film Altered States. Critics raved when the film came out with film critic Roger Ebert stating "one hell of a movie" and the film "Ken Russell was born to direct.
" How do I describe the film? I do not have a freakin' clue other than scientist Eddie Jessup (William Hurt) is on the verge of scientific breakthrough, but of course it will not be without its consequences.
Trippy and dangerous, Altered States travels through time and space and to the other side we dare not venture. It is flat out exciting, so watch Altered States. I definitely enjoyed it.
