Review of Alphaville (1965) by Jeremy G — 31 Oct 2007
One of the most perfect movies ever made, with a French New Wave director taking on the future-as-the-past with intergalactic gumshoe Lemmy Caution out to get the bad guys. It's maybe the best sci-fi film ever, possibly because it is so non-sci-fi.
If you do a lot of drugs this film won't be improved by them: it's permanently far more lunched than you'll ever be...
