Review of Alphaville (1965) by Nia E — 22 Oct 2008
Undoubtedly brilliant but a little bit over my head. Visually stunning, and all the more impressive considering no sets were made, in Godard's portrayal of a horrible, wholly conceivable, future. A simple story made nice and confusing by the genius mix of thriller, sci-fi and noir.
